Therefore, those who work or plan to work in Juniper-based network environments find their certifications useful for professional development and improvement.

Juniper Networks Certification Program Overview

The Juniper Networks Certification Program (JNCP) includes several titles categorized by career path. The credentials are based on Juniper technologies, products and services. JNCP offers seven titles including:

Automation and DevOps

cloud

Data center

design

Enterprise routing and switching

Junos security

Service provider routing and switching

We collectively refer to these credentials as "Network Engineer" certifications as they are all geared towards network engineering experts. Each track is covered in more detail in the following sections. You can also find more information on the Juniper Networks Certification Tracks pages.

An examination with the corresponding requirements is required for each certification. Associate-level certification exams are $ 200, specialist exams are $ 300, and professional exams are $ 400, all of which are offered through Pearson VUE. Expert-level certifications require a hands-on lab exam, costing $ 1,400 and only available at select Juniper Network test centers.

Juniper Networks requires certification holders to recertify every three years to obtain their credentials. For Associate, Specialist, and Professional certifications, Proof of Entitlement Holders must pass the current exam. However, unlike other IT certification programs, passing an exam (or taking an approved course) also renews any lower-level certifications that were acquired the same route. To renew an expert-level certification, candidates must pass the current professional-level exam.

JNCIA Junos Certification

The Juniper Networks Certified Associate - Junos (JNCIA-Junos) is the entry-level certification for all of the company's certification tracks, with the exception of cloud and design tracks. The cloud certification path uses the JNCIA cloud credentials, while the design certification path uses Juniper Networks Certified Design Associate (JNCDA) as the entry credentials.

The JNCIA Junos Proof of Entitlement is for those who have a basic understanding of the Juniper Networks Junos operating system and the fundamentals of networking, routing, and switching. You must earn this certification (or JNCIA-Cloud for the cloud path and JNCDA for the draft path) to advance to specialist, subject and expert certificates. To earn the JNCIA-Junos, candidates must pass the JN0-102 exam, which contains 65 multiple-choice questions and takes up to 90 minutes to complete.

JNCP Enterprise Routing and Switching Track

JNCP Enterprise Routing and Switching Track is useful for those familiar with networking technologies in general, and Juniper Networks enterprise routing and switching platforms in particular. The four certifications on this track form a certification scale, and each certification serves as a prerequisite for the next certificate in the sequence:

Juniper Networks Certified Employee - Junos (Juniper JNCIA-Junos)

Juniper Networks Certified Enterprise Routing and Switching Specialist (JNCIS-ENT)

Juniper Networks Certified Professional Enterprise Routing and Switching (JNCIP-ENT)

Juniper Networks Enterprise Routing and Switching Certified Expert (JNCIE-ENT)

JNCIA Junos certification begins at the bottom of the ladder and is a prerequisite for JNCIS ENT certification.

The JNCIS-ENT recognizes network professionals with basic to intermediate knowledge of routing and switching, platform configuration, and troubleshooting in Junos. Candidates must pass a single written exam (JN0-347) that contains 65 multiple-choice questions and lasts up to 90 minutes.

JNCIS-ENT is a prerequisite for professional JNCIP-ENT certification, which is relevant for networking professionals who have in-depth knowledge of enterprise routing and switching technologies, platform configuration, and troubleshooting skills for Junos OS. Candidates take the JN0-647 exam, which contains 65 multiple-choice questions and lasts up to 120 minutes.

The JNCIP-ENT is a prerequisite for JNCIE-ENT certification at the expert level, which is the highest certification in the field of enterprise routing and switching. This certification requires a practical exam that tests the networking professional's ability to implement, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Junos-based enterprise routing and switching platforms using a variety of devices, protocols, and features. Candidates can enroll in a JNCIE boot camp to prepare for the JPR-943 practical exam, which lasts up to eight hours.
